France summoned U.S. Ambassador Jane Hartley to its Foreign Ministry on Wednesday after WikiLeaks released documents claiming that the National Security Agency has spied on its last three presidents, between 2006 and 2012.

In a statement released Wednesday morning, French President Francois Hollande called the wiretapping on senior French officials unacceptable and said it will not be tolerated.

“France will not tolerate any actions that threaten its security and the protection of its interests,” Hollande’s office said.
